It was a symbol of authority, of religious control, of a world still ordered around pagan gods. But miles away, on the Hill of Slane, Patrick lit a different fire—the Paschal fire of Easter. Not a flame, but more like a bonfire.

Talk about bold! “Take that, Pagan!”
